We are stronger together.

The reality is that supporting children's digital wellness requires a collective effort. Schools, policymakers, tech companies, and communities all have a crucial role to play. While parents are essential, they should not bear this responsibility alone. Live IRL is committed to helping parents and caregivers collaborate with schools, community groups, and other parents to establish a consensus on best practices for technology use. By sharing responsibility, we can create a healthier digital future — one where tech companies prioritize safety, schools teach digital citizenship, and communities work together to support families.

Resources

Supporting Parents

Connect with other parents to build a support network. You can start with informal meetups —over coffee or at kids’ sports— or bring the Live IRL movement to your school to discuss shared tech challenges.

Starting the Conversation

Encourage open conversations with your family and network about social media use without shame or fear. Empower kids to advocate for their own well-being: teaching them to set limits, recognize harmful content, and ask for help when needed. Kids can be part of the solution! Brainstorm ways to balance social media and offline life.

Engaging the Community

Start small—with your school, community, or fellow parents—to create a ripple effect of healthier digital habits. Leaders, coaches, and mentors can model mindful tech use, while groups like Live IRL offer shared strategies and tools. Collaborate with schools and community groups to align on best practices and create a healthier digital environment.
